Fair Usage Policy

1. Purpose

This Policy ensures that all users have fair access to DBWillow's resources and prevents abuse that could impact service quality for other users. By using DBWillow, you agree to comply with this Policy.

2. AI Feature Usage Limits

2.1 AI SQL Assistant

Usage limits vary by subscription plan:

• Starter Plan (Promotional): Unlimited queries during promotional period
• Professional Plan: 100 queries per month
• Power Plan: Unlimited queries

Queries are counted each time you submit a request to the AI SQL Assistant. Failed queries due to service errors do not count toward your limit.

2.2 AI Widget Generation

Usage limits for widget generation:

• Starter Plan (Promotional): Unlimited widgets during promotional period
• Professional Plan: 25 widgets per month
• Power Plan: Unlimited widgets

Each widget generation request counts toward your monthly limit, regardless of whether the widget is saved or used.

2.3 Usage Reset

Monthly usage limits reset on the first day of each billing cycle. Unused queries or widget generations do not roll over to the next month.

3. Prohibited Activities

The following activities are prohibited and may result in account suspension or termination:

• Automated Queries: Using scripts, bots, or automated systems to generate excessive AI queries
• Reselling or Sharing: Sharing your account or reselling access to AI features
• Abuse of Trial Periods: Creating multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits
• Resource Exhaustion: Attempting to overload our systems with excessive requests
• Circumvention: Attempting to bypass usage limits through technical means

4. Reasonable Use Guidelines

While some plans offer unlimited usage, we expect users to:

• Use AI features for legitimate database management tasks
• Not generate excessive queries that could impact service performance
• Use resources in a manner consistent with typical database client usage
• Respect the intended purpose of the service

If we determine that your usage is excessive or abusive, we reserve the right to:

• Request that you reduce your usage
• Temporarily throttle or limit your access
• Require you to upgrade to a higher-tier plan
• Suspend or terminate your account

5. Database Connection Limits

While DBWillow does not impose strict limits on the number of database connections, we recommend:

• Maintaining a reasonable number of active connections
• Closing unused connections to free resources
• Not using DBWillow to create excessive database connections that could impact your database server

6. Monitoring and Enforcement

We monitor usage patterns to:

• Ensure fair access for all users
• Identify and prevent abuse
• Maintain service quality and performance
• Enforce usage limits

If we detect violations of this Policy, we may take action including warnings, temporary restrictions, or account termination, depending on the severity and nature of the violation.

7. Account Restrictions

Accounts that violate this Policy may be subject to:

• Temporary suspension of AI features
• Rate limiting on API requests
• Requirement to upgrade to a higher-tier plan
• Permanent account termination for severe violations

8. Promotional Periods

During promotional periods (such as the Starter plan's unlimited AI features), usage is still subject to reasonable use guidelines. Promotional benefits may be modified or terminated at our discretion with reasonable notice.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Fair Usage Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or through the service. Continued use of DBWillow after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
